LISBON, June 28
FIBI – Association For Immigrants, By Immigrants proudly presented Project Angalo, its latest community initiative during the ECOS da Sociedade Civil event held in Lisbon on Saturday. The event brought together organizations, communities, and policy makers for a full day of exhibitions, dialogue, and engagement.
Project Angalo, a culturally inclusive playgroup designed for immigrant mothers and their children (ages 0-36 months), was featured during the ‘Try It!’ themed workshops segment. FIBI’s interactive presentation showcased the project’s approach to early childhood development, maternal bonding, and social integration, emphasizing the power of play and community support in immigrant family life.
Held at the Escola Básica Bairro do Armador in Marvila, Angalo has been making an impact by providing free, multilingual sessions where immigrant mothers can connect and grow alongside their young children.
The ECOS event, organized by Fundação Aga Khan Portugal, created a platform for civil society actors to highlight innovative, community-led projects. Alongside workshops, exhibitions, and children’s activities, the day featured powerful roundtable discussions with municipal councilors from Lisbon, Porto, and Sintra.
FIBI’s participation underscored its commitment to inclusive development and its role as a voice for immigrant communities in Portugal.
